I got off the 'phone a couple of hours ago, after talking to a friend from Melbourne who runs a business in Bali. He and his family were at his company's annual office party on Saturday night, some way from the blast sites. They and all of their staff are ok, but some of his staff (they are all Indonesian) have had family members and close friends injured by the bomb blasts, and at least one has  a lost a family member. Most of the dead and injured are ordinary Indonesians who were just out enjoying themselves, running their businesses or trying to make a living.

He said that a lot of people in Bali cannot believe that it has happened again, but he and his family are not going to leave. That would be giving in.
